Santander wanted to generate media interest around its Santander X UK Awards, which gives innovative start-ups the chance to win up to £25,000 in equity-free funding.
Santander have been running the awards for over a decade, and wanted to increase the profile of the competition through the media – after struggling to get cut through in previous years.
To do so, we were briefed to explore newsworthy research angles around entrepreneurship, utilising digital assets and case studies to boost the messaging.
Santander and 72Point have a long-standing relationship which stems from our research, news generation and design capabilities. As a trusted partner of the bank, they regularly enlist 72Point to support its PR projects and wider campaign.
Supporting Santander X Awards
The result was a two-phased approach to land maximum coverage for the Santander X Awards.
First was a research-led campaign which explored how many Brits dream of being their own boss one day and why. After identifying how many people have these ambitions, we introduced expert advice from one of the judges on the Santander X Awards to encourage budding businesspeople to take the leap of faith.
The second stage saw us interviewing the winners of the top prizes to create news content telling their inspirational stories and their innovative business could change lives.
