England football fans yesterday (Fri) demanded John Terry be stripped of the
captain's armband following allegations over his private life.

Chelsea star Terry was unmasked as the player who won a 'super injunction' to
prevent his affair with a team-mate's girlfriend from being published by a
Sunday paper.

A poll of 2,000 fans by www.OnePoll.com revealed 87 per cent want England boss
Fabio Capello to sack him as skipper.

Among the words used to describe married father of twins Terry by respondents
were 'vile', 'disgusting' and 'disloyal'.

Twitter users bombarded the social networking site with posts calling for him
to be fired immediately, while others questioned his suitability for the role of
England captain.

One read: ''Good to see that the role of England captain is again being upheld
with such dignity and class by John Terry.''

Another read: ''John Terry. Laughing stock. Captain Fantastic. My a***hole.''

One tweeter said: ''Cannot believe John Terry did it. Oh my God.  Bye bye
England Captaincy,'' and another that ''John Terry sounds like a nice guy,
doesnt he?''
