ON CALL

The average girlie night out takes three days, five hours and 22 minutes to organise, a study found yesterday (Fri).

Female party animals will swap 16 texts, five phone calls, three Facebook postings and three emails planning their get-together.

And three phonecalls will be made on the night - because someone is late.

It also emerged girls meet up twice a month - which means a total of 32 electronic messages are exchanged either by phone or computer to arrange the event.

A spokesman for www.OnePoll.com said: ''Military style planning is involved in a night out now.

''In the old days it would have been a couple of phone calls and then fingers crossed everyone turned up, but things have changed.

''Modern communication makes it easier to discuss things like venues, outfits and shoes.''

The survey of 1,000 women also revealed the average night involves four ladies flirting, dancing around handbags and gossiping in the toilets.

Researchers also found while the average girly night will last four five hours and 32 minutes, almost an hour is spent flirting with two different guys.

But the biggest chunk of the night is spent gossiping - with close to two hours spent talking about sex or discussing female friends and colleagues.

Girls will also spend 54 minutes giggling and one hour and 22 minutes eating and drinking.

This leaves 38 minutes for queuing to get in to clubs, waiting for taxi and getting to and from their night on the town.
